The stitching on the last is done after the upper has been assembled on the last.Particularly used to sew moccasins, the craftsman must first make the mark and then pierce symmetrically on the sides of the mark with the awl.This stitching allows to perfectly follow the edge of the last and gives it an unmistakable appearance.
